“August Bells” é o primeiro single retirado de “Vever“, o quarto álbum da cantora e compositora Laura Loriga.
O disco tem edição agendada para 18 de Março de 2022 em Cassette, LP e em todas as plataformas digitais via Ears&Eyes Records.
Laura Loriga nasceu em Bolonha, Itália, e na última década tem vindo a desenvolver o seu trabalho entre o seu próprio país e os Estados Unidos. “Vever” foi escrita em Nova Iorque entre 2018 e 2020, e conta com a colaboração de uma série de músicos entre os quais Josh Werner (Marc Ribot, Coco Rosie), Otto Hauser (Espers, Vashti Bunyan), Anni Rossi e Janis Brenner (Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble).
“August Bells came from a memory. It was a summer day in Bologna some years ago and the city was filled with cicada songs. A friend and I were joking around at a bar, slowly drinking our wine and wondering about the future. Suddenly, the bells of the nearby church started ringing very loudly, and right away we both felt as if the world outside had come to call us, asking us to wake up, go, and bite the bullet so to say. It was our last drink together in our hometown so far. Thinking of Vever as a series of imaginary veves, August Bells is definitely one for hope.”
