The Black Keys lançam esta sexta feira, 14 de Maio, o seu décimo álbum de estúdio, intitulado “Delta Kream“, via Nonesuch Records.
O disco celebra as origens da banda, apresentando onze faixas típicas de hill country blues do Mississippi, que o duo tanto tem vindo a apreciar desde a sua adolescência e ainda antes de terem formado a banda, incluindo canções de R. L. Burnside e Junior Kimbrough, entre outros.
Dan Auerbach e Patrick Carney gravaram o novo disco “Delta Kream” no estúdio Easy Eye Sound de Auerbach, em Nashville; a eles, juntaram-se os músicos Kenny Brown e Eric Deaton, membros de longa-data de bandas de algumas lendas dos blues, incluindo R. L. Burnside e Junior Kimbrough. O novo álbum ganhou o seu nome a partir da icónica fotografia do fotógrafo William Eggleston, do Mississippi, que está também presente na capa do disco.
Sobre o novo trabalho, Auerbach refere que “We made this record to honor the Mississippi hill country blues tradition that influenced us starting out. These songs are still as important to us today as they were the first day Pat and I started playing together and picked up our instruments. It was a very inspiring session with Pat and me along with Kenny Brown and Eric Deaton in a circle, playing these songs. It felt so natural.”
Carney corrobora, acrescentando: “The session was planned only days in advance and nothing was rehearsed. We recorded the entire album in about ten hours, over two afternoons, at the end of the ‘Let’s Rock’ tour.”
