Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo é um músico Italiano que define a sua identidade com o apelido (r) . Esta quinta feira lança o seu 5º album, “Titan Arum”, um disco bipolar de um músico a divagar pela meia-idade.
O Titulo do álbum é o nome cientifico de uma planta também conhecida como a “flor carniça”, devido ao seu odor semelhante a de um cadáver em decomposição. O álbum carrega metáforas botânicas bem ilustrada na capa do disco por Marco “il Bue” Schiavo. Entre sonoridades quase disco-pop, ruídos, explosões e implosões sônicas e temperamentais, percorremos ao longo do disco um equilibrado entre as músicas e extensões sonoras de zumbidos, termina com uma cover do tema “Lullaby” de Leonard Cohen.
“The Side Effects Of Self Indulgence” é o primeiro single retirado de “Titan Arum”. O videoclipe foi realizado pelo artista e colaborador John Lee Bird.
“I entered my own lockdown in September 2019 with a spinal problem; pretty much been confined to the house ever since, so I needed to occupy the hours. I found a box of felt I’d been hoarding… I fancied doing a bit of sewing. It was time to reach out and turn to the artists that inspired and render a tribute, a fabric i-doll. I stitched daily. Each day immersing myself in albums by whichever artist I’d woken up in need of turning to. I have a LARGE music collection. I’m a fan. I’m a nerd. I stitched more. Non-stop. Over the course of the year, I completed 300 dolls. The video for Fabrizio’s track was made in one night, with lots of whisky. All the dolls came out to party.”
O álbum, masterizado por James Plotkin, conta com a participação de Jochen Arbeit (Einsturzende Neubauten), Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu), Chiara e Freddie Lee (a dupla anteriormente conhecida como Father Murphy) e muitos outros.
